I know, I know, it’s been far too long! My sweet friend Marcy nominated me to participate in a blog hop and I have to answer four questions and share with you a project:) Actually the project is a bonus, but it did inspire me to create, thank you Marcy ! Make sure you check out Marcy’s amazing work while you’re out there hopping today:) 1. What are you working on right now? To be honest, not much in the stamping world. I am motivated though to get caught up on my MDS scrapbooking! I NEED to scrapbook all the amazing experiences we are having over here in Australia. I also have a "to do" list of Christmas gifts I need to get started on... some packages of thank you and birthday cards! So I "will" be working on them in the very near future:) 2. How does my work differ from others in my genre? Hmmm..... tricky question.... I’m not sure I’m different, but I can say I’m pretty diverse. I like to create cute, fun, whimsical, retro, vintage, practical, silly.... you name it, so if there’s a need to create I try and do it! I don’t think I fit a mold. 3. Why do I create what I do? I have two main reasons why I create. The first is to meet a need.... that can be a need for a project, the need to create and the need to explore. The second is to share. I love to share my creations and ideas! 4. How does my creative process work? I often start with the purpose.... what am I creating? Next I pick my colours. Then stamps and lastly embellishments. I don’t usually do sketches or follow a pattern, I just create and see where I end up. Thanks again Marcy! And to celebrate a post, I’ve created a few pages for you:) Thanks for putting up with my absence. Hugs! I wish I could be there to join in the fun. My amazing downline Martha and Marja are hosting a post Kitchener event.they are both very talented designers and even more thoughtful women! This event will be top notch! Check out the flyer for all the details! Wish I could be there! Posted at 05:14 PM | Permalink | Comments (2) Reblog (0) | | | August 14, 2014 Stamp Date What fun! I had a date with my good friend Martha today. She messaged me on Facebook and across the ocean we stamped together. It was fun. She picked the stamp set and I set the color combo. And then we each made a card at our respective homes. Thanks for the inspiration Martha! Look forward to doing it again soon. Here is what I came up with. Posted at 12:40 AM | Permalink | Comments (6) Reblog (0) | | | August 11, 2014 Guess what’s coming..... Halloween!!!! Are you as excited as I am!?!? For those of you that know me, Halloween is my THING! LOVE IT! Even though it really isn’t that big here, I’ll be making it big this year:) The kids are already planning their acitivites, costumes and food! Can’t wait!!! I made this card the other day. I love the little house set in the Holiday catalogue (you’ll see it a lot!) I was a very good girl and only got two stamp sets for the upcoming season. (that could change:) We shall see!!!! I’m not sure what my favourite stamp is but these little bats are a GEM! I stamped on the ribbon using Staz On and it went on really well and didn’t smudge! I’m thrilled with the final look! The spider web is from the Bite Me photopolymer stamp set (released last year....and I LOVE IT - shocker!) I don’t make a lot of Halloween cards but I think tags or bag headers with something stamped similar to this would be super cute! What do you think? Thanks for stopping by today! Hugs, Heather Posted at 06:25 AM | Permalink | Comments (3) Reblog (0) | | | August 10, 2014 Tasmania Today’s MDS page was inspired by one made by someone at P & Co (I think!) I saw this on Pinterest and tried to find the original source. I used it as complete inspiration and am thrilled with my result. This page was fun to put together! I love using the map in the background and then layering my details on tops of this. Cute, eh? I tried to keep fairly neutral with the colours as I LOVE these photos and wanted them to stand out. The colours on this page are Midnight Muse, Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla and Basic Black with the opacity of 80%. Hope you like today’s page! I challenge you to create a page with a map on it! Go for it! Hugs, Heather Posted at 08:19 AM | Permalink | Comments (1) Reblog (0) | | | August 08, 2014 I stamped!!!! and it felt great!!!! I got a few treats from the upcoming holiday catalogue today and this Santa Stache was stop of my list! I love this stamp set and the matching framelit. Isn’t it sweet!?!?! Here’s a quick run down of the supplies I used: Cherry Cobbler Cardstock and Stampin’ Write marker Basic Gray Ink Staz On Smokey Slate Stampin’ Write marker Blusing Bride Stampin’ Write marker Pennant Framelits White Bakers Twine Oval Framelits Pearls Hope you like the card.... I know I’m way early, but I was inspired and happy to create! Hugs, Heather Posted at 08:16 AM | Permalink | Comments (3) Reblog (0) | | | August 03, 2014 Where is Heather? I’m not gone, I promise:) I’ve been on a happy little break though. Life here in Australia has thrown us a few curve balls. All is well, but time hasn’t been what I thought it would be. I’ll explain in brief points for you as many of you have asked where I’ve been and I do appreciate your concerns and your checking in! two of our munchkins have taken longer to "settle" in here than we thought so they have had some extra time and loving. Things are going great here but it’s good to stay on top of it. it’s cold here! I’ve been busy "yarning" (crocheting and knitting) some tuques for the chilly Australian nights (and some days!) holidays! The beginning of July we had a two week AMAZING holiday together (and most of it was technology free thanks to little or no wifi - especially in Tasmania) I haven’t been stamping as much lately - due to lack of resources and funds:) I have placed my first order from the catalogue so hopefully will share some creations with you sooner than later! In the meantime, I’ve been MDSing like crazy so I’ll have some pages to share and of course some of my mom’s amazing creations! We are so lucky!!! So for today, here’s just a little eye candy. Thanks again for stopping by! Hugs, Heather Posted at 09:34 AM | Permalink | Comments (7) Reblog (0) | | | June 21, 2014 Hostess Gift Emma and I were invited out to a "girls" dinner and I didn’t want to go empty handed. It was a Mexican themed dinner party (details will be on our travel blog if you’re interested:) but I didn’t have any Mexican stamps. SO, instead I used the ADORABLE new hostess set from the NEW catalogue and made five little cards and put it into a little crochet basket. I used watercolour paper and markers to colour in the little birds and then cut them out. The colour combinations I used were: So Saffron with Hello Honey Crisp Canteloupe with Calypso Coral Pool Party with Coastal Cabana Pistachio Pudding with...
